Book Review: Hot Commodities

Hot Commodities offer not only a solid background to beginners on how to start investing in commodities, it also shares profound insights from Jim Rogers on investments in general.

The book begins with the fundamentals economic background, and goes on to compare how commodities are different from and irreplaceable with other asset classes. Then he explained how commodities are traded, and basic concepts such as contracts and margins. Next, he analyzes why the next commodity bull market is on its way, and how we can best equip ourselves to capitalize on it. Lastly, he dissects a few significant commodities individually and illustrates how thorough research should be done before putting any money on the table.

In the Appendix, he introduced his Rogers International Commodities Index as well as other popular indices, and provided reference guide to various commodities traded on different exchanges.
